As part of a program to strengthen the IRB review process and
complience we are sponsoring a seminar and workshop series dealing
with the "nuts and bolts" of the IRB process. The speaker we had
planned for the seminar had conflicts and I am looking for a replacement.
Suggestions would be welcome.
We are looking for someone who is:
1. A good speaker;
2. Has credentials in Human Subjects Research;
3. Can give an interesting talk that deals with Human Subject Research
as it applies to their specialty area AND can discuss ethical requirements
in other areas (for example the class vs research discussion now going
on);
4. Is available Late January or Early February, 1996; and
5. Willing to do all this for about $500 + expenses.
My goal is to provide an interesting seminar for the univeristy community
and to educate the attendees on ethical standards for human subject
research and other research ethics.
