Good morning All,

There are several important areas where I would like to establish a
consensus opinion of 'best practice' and hereby solicit the expertise
of the list members.

1)  Endowment fund tracking:  what database tools do you use?  Pros
and cons, etc.  Also...

2)  Funding allocation issues:  particularly those allocation issues
which fall in that gray area which Must be agressively pursued.

3)  Management Information Systems:  does anyone have experience and
can speak to the pros and cons of the Banner or Craig systems?

4)  Indirect Cost Recovery:  budgeting for indirect costs.
Systematic approaches?

5)  Approaches to rewarding FACULTY for their success in developing
grants and other types of funding?

Four fairly broad topics that are probably each worthy of being
regarded on their own.  Please feel free to respond to anyone of
these.
