RE: IRB Fee
We charge industrial sponsors $500 plus indirect cost for IRB review.
We also charge $500 plus indirect cost for a pharmacy set-up fee for
all trials using drugs. We have not yet started charging not-for-
profit sponsors for the IRB fee, but charge all for the pharmacy set-
up fee. We also charge $25 per patient for the pharmacy for the
dispensing of the drugs.
We use the funds from the IRB review for sending IRB members to PRIM&R
and for other educational events and materials. For example, we
transported our members to an MRI facility so that they could better
understand the workings and interpretation of MRI testing.
The amount of time involved in all of the above far exceeds the $500+
charges.
