FOIA Request from USA Today
Lou Pellegrino 21 Oct 1995 15:00 EST
Dear Colleagues:
Have any other institutions been contacted by a reporter (Mike
Gahlager) from the Cincinnati Inquirer/USA Today chain of newspapers
concerning a Freedom of Information Act request for information
regarding NIH funding?
Apparently these newspapers are doing an "Investigative Report" on
how NIH funds are being spent by universities. They plan to make
FOIA requests from the top 100 recipients (i.e. institutions)
of NIH funding and claim to have been working with the HHS
Office of Inspector General on this project.
If any other institutions have been contacted by these newspapers or
their reporters on this matter, I would appreciate hearing about it
either through this list or via phone or e-mail directly to me.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
