Public institutions in the state of Florida are permitted to retain
indirect cost dollars generated from grants and contracts.  These
dollars are used at the discretion of the institution to support the
research endeavors on campus.

What happens in the 49 other states?  Are indirect cost dollars
retained at individual institutions or does the state control the use
of these funds?  Input would be appreciated.  Thanks.
