Thanks for the responses. I'll try to clarify my earlier question.
At Central Michigan University, the pre-award office reports to the
Assistant Vice President for Research and the grants accountants report
to the Business office. I know that in some cases, grants accounting
reports to the "research" side rather than the "business side". What I
am looking for is input as to the reporting lines, how well does your
system function, and are any "programmatic" post award functions provided
by the accountants, or only "financial" post-award? Also if the post-award
reports to the Research Office, is there a conflict (real or perceived)
by the Finance Office?? Thanks.
