policies and procedures manuals Patricia A. Hagen 11 Sep 1995 12:04 EST

I am in the process of revising our Office of Research Affairs' policies
and procedures manual. What is unique about our situation is that we
wish to move from a manual with very specific details on procedure to
one which is far more generic and broad. A recent affiliation with a
large hospital network requires that any manual which is developed in
our office may, at some point, be used throughout the hospital system,
so we are moving to a manual which will be less institution-specific.

Has anyone else out there in research administration land had a similar
experience? If so, how did you approach this adventure?

Also, if anyone is willing to share his or her institution's or system's
policies and procedures manual for research administration, I would
sincerely appreciate it. (I assume that if you send me a copy of your
manual, you do not mind if I "borrow" freely from it.)

If you can help me, thanks so much in advance. My address is:
