This message came to me from a colleague having computer
difficulties, so she asked me to post on her behalf.
This also is a good point to remind everyone attending the upcoming
SRA meeting in Chicago to please bring a copy of your policy and
procedure manual for display. For planning purposes, it would be
helpful if you let Kristina Clenaghan (xxxxxx@ors.ors.sunysb.edu)
know that you're bringing one.

Being able to peruse other procedures manuals from various institutions
seems like an excellent idea...in fact if one pursued the thought there are
many other "exhibits" that lend themselves to sharing this way...I am
thinking of illustrative budget justifications, presentations...subcontract
language on issues such as confidentiality, indemfication ...humans
subjecty consent forms...the possible list seems long
In fact in thinking about this I wonder what thought people would have on
the following:
Years ago I remember a softcover book called "The Language of Accounting"
which was a sort of glossary/definition of many complicated accounting
terms with one to two paragraph explanations and sometimes examples of
these terms...I wonder if research administration lends itself to an
analagous "Language of Research Administration" that could be a reference
type book...maybe this could be a task of the association and
members...given that the move is to become more professionally defined
maybe the time has come for something like this?
just a thought
