Re: Citizen Ambassador Program Richard Moore 31 Aug 1995 08:34 EST

I regularly get inquiries from faculty about this program. In fact,
in most years I get solicitations (or invitations) from them to join
one of their groups.  Basically  the CAP seems to be a: a) private;
b) not for profit (?); c) endorsed by a number of "big names"
organization which organizes overseas study tours for academics and
other professionals (local MDs and attorneys have also received
invitations). Particants are expected to pay their own way (or
secure other funding to pay for them) typically $3000 - $3500. My
institution has never provided any susch assistance that I am aware
of and I don't know anyone who has actually gone on one of the
trips. They appear to be worthwhile in the same sense that any
experience like this is worthwhile. They are not Fulbright GSA.
Thats about all I
can say.
