Yes, we assign a new account number for every budget period of a NIH grant.
We recently changed to a system where we can at least keep the first 5
digits the same for the entire project-- the 6th digit indicating the budget
year.
Currently, we process non-competing continuations virtually the same as new
applications: i.e. we require all the same internal forms. This is something
we would like to simplify. How do others treat non-competing proposals?
