Susan--We performed a survey last spring.  We're going through a
campus-wide review and reallocation process, so I wanted some actual
data to demonstrate that our office was doing good things.  Basically we
asked two sorts of questions--how have we been doing and what
should we be doing differently--about the various categories of service
we provide.

It worked quite well--verified that we are doing work which is perceived
as valuable, and also gave us some direction for the coming year.  I
found it a very valuable exercise.  (Of course I was quite confident that it
would turn out favorably, otherwise I might not have undertaken it.)

 It's format would not survive translation into emailable AASCI, I'm afraid.
