I kind of disagree with Dick. I do not want blatant advertisements sent
to me spontaneously, but if someone on the list is working on a product
that may fulfill an expressed need, I want to know about it, too. If that
person has a financial interest in the success of the product, then that
will be a factor I definitely take into account in assessing the product.
With regard to the posting of several weeks ago, I definitely felt more
informed than advertised to. It's always good to have people on the list
who are on the cutting edge of product development in our field. True,
they have an agenda, but we're smart enough to know the implications....
