Later this week I'm giving a talk on grants to a group of visiting university
and college administrators from Beijing.  Does anyone out there know
anything about the grants business in China?  My guess is, there isn't
anything like the US systems of public or private grants to education, so I
plan to provide considerable background.  But I made the same guess
about the grants business in Hungary, and I was wrong.  (A Hungarian
student enrolled in a course I recently taught on proposal writing--she
caught on instantly, has been grant funded for years).
