Ohio University's College of Osteopathic Medicine has announced the
following position opening.  This position reports through the
College of Medicine and assists the College administrative staff and
clinical faculty in the preparation of proposals to support a variety
of activities including curriculiar enhancement, public service
projects, student and faculty development, etc.  Currently, research
proposals from the basic sciences faculty are managed directly by the
Office of Research & Sponsored Programs.

Ohi University received Carnegie Foundation Research University II
status in 1994 and received over $30 million in awards in 1994 for
research, instructional and public service activities.

Position:  Director of Grants Programs, Ohio University College of
Osteopathic Medicine
Available: Immediately Following Search
Salary: $41,000 - $44,000

Responsibilities: Analyzes current and planned programs and
identifies relevant external funding sources.  Coordinates planning,
writing, and submission of proposals to match funding opportunities
to College needs.  Plans and manages budgets for restricted
grants/contracts.  Maintains grants and contract files.  Assures that
all administrative requirements of funding agencies are met.

Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in health field or
administration required.  Minimum of five years in health program
planning, development and implementation necessary.  Experience in
policy analysis and monitoring multi-year grants.  Knowledge of
long-range fiscal planning and federal/state health laws,
regulations, and policies highly desirable.  Excellent analytical,
organizational, decision-making and communication skills essential.
Demonstrated ability in proposal writing.
