restructuring of Sponsored Projects -Reply Pam Fillmore 13 Jun 1995 08:43 EST

The Research office at Emporia State University is pre and post award.
We assist with budget preparation and editing, but we don't put
proposals together. We will facilitate the campus approval process and
duplicate and mail them. We assist faculty in finding funding sources by
doing individual searches and by distributing information to them. On the
post-award side we monitor all grant expenditures and are responsible
for all financial reporting. The office is also responsible for the IRB, but
not the IACUC. There are, of course, other things we do too numerous
to mention. The staff consists of myself, Research Analyst, which is a
full-time classified position, and a 16 hour/wk undergraduate student. I
report to the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, who is also the
Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, so the time he devotes to
the research area is limited.
