Privitization Ann R. Stevens 25 May 1995 14:08 EST

Privitization at state universities seems to be in vogue right now. I
am somewhat confused when I hear that a law or business or some other
college/school within a public university may privitize. I understand
the advantages of doing so to escape state regulations for purchasing
and other matters, but I don't understand what happens with the
students, e.g., their registration, their benefits, etc. Also seems
to me that privitizing would lead to "many" universities within one;
am I wrong?????

I would appreciate learning what others are doing in this area and
becoming educated as to what it means for student enrollments,
matriculation, etc. I remain NAIVE on this topic. ThanksAnn R. Stevens,Ph.D.
