In addition to all the valid points raised by Charkes Graham and although
I'm a supporter for everything electronic, I believe there's an important
positive latent function of walking around the proposal routing form. I
think that maybe it's one of the few times the faculty member actually sees
and is recognized by the administrative signatories and vice versa. It's
not much and may not happen every time but every once in awhile, a good old
"analog" contact comes in handy.
