SENIOR GRANTS ADMINISTRATOR

Duties and Responsibilities:  Independently administers all aspects of
federal and non-federal grants and contracts administration for HMS
subdepartments.  Supervises assistant grant administrator and
coordinates all post award administrative issues including
rebudgeting, account reconciliation and financial reporting.  Reviews
and disseminates information on sources of research support and
assists faculty in identifying appropriate sources of funding.
Reviews grants and contract applications submitted through HMS to
ensure compliance with Federal and Non-federal regulations.
Coordinate and present seminars educating faculty and staff
concerning both funding opportunities and administrative procedures.
Provides analysis of sponsored research activity for financial
forecasting.  Will be one of three team leaders with potential to
assume leadership position in office.

Required education, experience, skills:  Bachelor's degree required;
two to five years' experience in an university environment at least
two of which have been in grant and contract administration;
familiarity with NIH structure and regulations; ability to work under
constant deadline pressures; excellent interpersonal and
communication skills; strong commitment to customer service;
excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage
large volumes of work.  Negotiation skills and experience with
contract language highly desirable.  Familiarity and experience using
micro computer word processing, spread sheet software, and facility
with Internet/world-wide web searching/use essential.
