Fed Reg on WWW Len Paplauskas 11 May 1995 07:23 EST

The following was forwarded by me by my animal care director, who received
this from the comp med mailing list. If I recall correctly, there was
some discussion about this topic a few weeks ago.

FREE access to the Federal Register.

InterSoft Corporation is please to provide the first WWW and email
interface access to the Federal Resister using a full-featured
state-of-the-art text retrieval engine.

The daily publication of the Federal Register is the method used by the
US government to inform the public of all actions by government agencies.
With this overwhelming amount of paper documentation, the task of
locating specific information has become tedious, time consuming and
very labor intensive.

The Text Optimum Retrieval Engine/Federal Register (TORE/FR) system is
designed so that users can quickly and efficiently find information in
the Federal Register.

Other online systems use a structure of directories and files, which
have to be traversed to find the required information. With TORE/FR this
task has been eliminated.

TORE/FR provides a wide range of advanced search types such as proximity,
phonetic, spell tolerant, acronym and thesaurus, with a simple point and
click access. For easy reference, all reports are displayed with the
most recent amendments listed first.

You can visit our home page at
