I have received a lot of phone calls recently from people who have been
told by current resadm-l subscribers to contact me for directions on how
to subscribe.

Below are the directions.  Please provide these to anyone who you are
recommending join RESADM-L, rather than giving out my phone number.
It's not that I don't want to be helpful -- it just is too much in
addition to administering the list.  The instructions are pretty
straightforward.

TO SUBSCRIBE TO RESADM-L

Send the following message in the form of a standard email note with no
subject line:

Subscribe RESADM-L Firstname Lastname

(Where firstname lastname is your name as you would like to appear on the
list of subscribers)

This note should be sent to the following address:

xxxxxx@ALBNYDH2.BITNET

You should receive and acknowlegement of subscription along with
info on how to unsubscribe from the list.

If you have trouble subscribing, PLEASE first contact your local
e mail administrator to see if they can help you.  Because RESADM-L
is on a BITNET node, some internet users may need to route their
subscription request through a "gateway" to bitnet --only your local
email administrator can help you with this as sites generally have their
own pre-defined gateways. The majority of internet users have not
had problems, however.
