Re the overload and J8:

I agree.  Supplemental compensation should be treated as
"incidental".  Academic health centers must face the problem of
payments to faculty from clinical income (Y) and from regular funds
(X) where both make up a guaranteed base salary.  In such cases, Y is
not "incidental" and should be part of the J8 effort distribution
system.
