Faculty her are allowed to spend up to one day/week on additional tasks
beyond their contracted load amd needs the pre-approval of their dean.
Requests for payment(s) must be accompanied by a statement from the
faculty member stating the number of days or hours worked and the tasks
completed - much as any consultant would do.  These are then approved by
their dean and forwarded to my office for final approval and processing.

Any time commitment beyond a day/week would be considered as having an
impact upon a faculty members ability to perform their regular duties and
release time would be considered.

We do not have alot of this here, but it does offer faculty the
incentive to get involved in research.
