Mr. Miles,

You may recall we spoke in late January re the position at CMU and
I indicated some interest in applying.  Unfortunately I have not had
the chance to pull together my letter of response due to a variety of
circumstances in my office.  However, I am still interested, if the
position has not yet been filled.  Can you advise me on the status
of the search?
