RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION LISTSERVE

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center seeks
applications for the position of Director, Office of Research
Administration (ORA). The Director, under the general supervision
of the Vice President for Research, manages day-to-day operations
of the ORA to promote and facilitate faculty participation in
sponsored research and educational activities.  Responsibilities
include: development and administrative coordination of
institutional sponsored programs policies and procedures;
interpretation and compliance oversight for federal and state
sponsored programs; institutional representation and liaison to
external funding agencies; technical assistance to large-scale,
interdisciplinary sponsored programs; administrative support to
institutional compliance committees; administrative review and
approval of all OUHSC applications for sponsored funding;
maintenance of a sponsored programs management information system;
and supervision of support services to faculty including
information dissemination, proposal development, contract
negotiations, compliance responsibilities, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Masters degree in a relevant field and three years
experience, or the equivalent combination of education and
experience, in the development and programmatic administration of
grants and contracts originating from federal, private nonprofit
and corporate sources, preferably in a health-related academic
environment; excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation
skills; and demonstrated ability to work with and advocate for
faculty in the academic research environment.

SALARY:  Commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The start date for this position is negotiable, with a June 1, 1995
