ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF UNIVERSITY RESEARCH
RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides leadership in expanding sponsored program activities
by mentoring individual faculty, matching funding sources with faculty
interests, informing faculty of funding opportunities, assisting faculty in
planning projects and developing proposals, conducting faculty training and
development activities, and occasionally preparing institutional proposals for
extramural funding. Provides day-to-day management of the Division, including
research administration, personnel management, and internal operations.
Recommends, develops, and implements policies and procedures for operation of
the Division and administration of grants and contracts. Prepares fiscal
forecasts and operational budgets and directs fiscal operations of the Division.
QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in an appropriate administrative/business
field, minimum five years experience in developing proposal narratives and
related documentation, and demonstrated skills in budget development and fiscal
oversight required. Demonstrated ability to mentor persons from diverse
disciplines, excellent written and oral communication skills, familiarity with
funding sources, computing skills, and previous supervisory experience
preferred.
SALARY RANGE: $30,600 to $55,100.
