Another question about indirect costs.  I would appreciate knowing
whether any of your institutions share indirects to support Centers
and/or
Institutes.  The latter often argue that if they are ever to be self-
supporting, they need to have all of the indirect costs returned to them.
Also, do you build administrative costs into the budgets for Centers/
Institutes?  Are the directors and secretaries on hard money or are their
salaries written into the proposal?

One other question on an entirely different topic:  Does anyone out there
know whether any federal agencies have Research Integrity guidelines
other than PHS and NSF?

Hi, Bill,

At Northern Illinois University, we return 10% of the recovered indirect
costs to the centers.  We usually do not request sponsor funds to pay
the director or clerical salaries.  Hope this helps.
