|Subj: Next NIH Regional Seminar
------------------------------------------------------------------
I wanted to give this listserve early notice of the next NIH Regional
Seminar in Program Funding and Grants Administration, which will be held
in Boston on June 12-13, 1995. (Thank you to those of you who expressed
a willingness to host the seminar. It was greatly appreciated.) The
notice below will appear in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts in a
couple of weeks. Please note, requests for registration materials
should NOT be sent to me -- registration will be handled by our host
institution, Beth Israel Hospital. Participation is not limited to
those in the northeast region, so I hope you will consider joining us in
Boston!
NIH REGIONAL SEMINAR IN
PROGRAM FUNDING AND GRANTS ADMINISTRATION
This announcement is to give notice of the next NIH regional seminar to
be offered in the summer of 1995. Beth Israel Hospital has been
selected to host the NIH Northeast Regional Seminar on Program Funding
and Grants Administration, which will be held at the Copley Plaza Hotel
in Boston, Massachusetts, on Monday and Tuesday, June 12-13, 1995.
The seminar will last two days and will have a dual focus of interest to
both academic researchers and new and senior research administrators.
Discussions of current issues that affect NIH funding and grants
administration will be featured to give conference participants a
comprehensive view of NIH-sponsored research. As part of the seminar, a
workshop on the fundamentals of NIH research administration (with an
emphasis on post-award administration) will be offered; enrollment will
be limited.
While the seminar is designed to attract people from the northeast
region, interested individuals from other regions are welcome to
participate. Staff from small and minority colleges, for-profit
research organizations, hospitals, universities and medical centers are
encouraged to attend.

Two NIH regional seminars are offered each year in different regions of
the country. At this time, the dates and locations of future seminars
have not yet been finalized, although it is likely that the next two
seminars following Boston will be offered in the west/northwest and
south. Information on upcoming regional seminars will be published in
the NIH Guide as soon as it becomes available.
