California State University, Fullerton is seeking to fill the position of
Grants and Contracts Coordinator.  It is an Administrative OPerations
Analyst II position, paying $2934 - $3533 per month.

The Coordinator will be part of a pre-award office that reports to
the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs.  Other staff include
the director, a regulatory compliance coordinator, and 2.5FTE clerical
support.  The university's auxiliary foundation provides post-award
management; the two offices work closely with each other.

CSU Fullerton received over $8 million in grants and contracts
in 1993-94 and intends to keep growing.

The job description in the formal announcement is as follows:
"Provides technical support in preparation of budgets, forms and format
of federal, state, local, business and nonprofit grants and contracts
proposals.  Identifies federal, state, and local research grant
opportunities, federal legislation and federal funding levels and advises
on developments; formulates, recommends and administers policies and proced-
ures.  Monitors proposals that require subcontracts or contracts.  Acts as liais
liaison with CSUF Foundation and University Advancement on status of grants.
Drafts contracts, negotiates terms and follows up on contract related
matters.  Writes and edits newsletters; supervises and directs office
clerical staff in the day to day operation; serves as resource for computer
system implementation.  Requires the equivalent of graduation from a four-
year college or university and two years of experience in grant administra-
tion, preferably in a pre-award position.  Preferred qualifications are
a master degree and experience with word processing and spreadsheet
capability in either Macintosh or MS-DOS.
