The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation offers grants for
innovative projects in the following areas: breast cancer education;
screening and early detection; education concerning treatment of breast
cancer; support programs (i.e., Survivor Support Groups, Family Support
Groups, etc.); and increased access to diagnostic and treatment
services of breast cancer.   Mammographic screening projects submitted
for consideration must involve outreach in the community with
particular emphasis in reaching the underserved.  All screening
requests must be directed by a Board Certified Radiologist and
conducted with a dedicated mammographic unit that is certified by the
American College of Radiology or American Osteopathic Board of
