As Director of Grants at Roanoke College, I report to the Vice
President for Academic Affairs/Dean of the College.  This works
extremely well for us.  Before my position was created eight years
ago, a Development Department staff person worked with faculty
grants.  This did not work well at all, resulting in very minimal
activity.  Our faculty view the position now as one of advocacy and
assistance for them.  Very different attitudes!
