journal editors Stuart A. Ross 21 Nov 1994 10:18 EST

I would be interested in receiving advice and comment
on the issues, problems, and opportunities that arise
when a faculty member on campus serves as editor for a national
journal. I assume it depends in part on the size of the
editorial staff and on the nature or prestige of the journal.
What should the campus be doing to regulate and/or recognize
the activities of a faculty member who serves as a journal editor?
I have been charged with recommending policies on this matter,
so any advice, horror stories, success stories, etc.
would be very welcome. Thanks.
