NSF Scientific Computing Research Environs. for Math-Deadline
Alexandra Garrison 04 Nov 1994 08:55 EST
We recently received a printed copy of the program guidelines for
NSF Grants for Scientific Computing Research Environments for the
Mathematical Sciences (NSF94-145) with a cover sticker stating the
"FOR 1994 ONLY THE DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED ONE MONTH."
Alvin Thaler, the NSF Program Director, told me, when I checked on this
change, the the sticker was applied in error. THE CORRECT DEADLINE IS
STILL THE FIRST MONDAY IN DECEMBER.
While Dr. Thaler (and we) hope this was an isolated incident and error,
it might be a good idea to check with faculty/department administrators
who may have ordered the publication. The STIS on-line version does
not contain the change, so those of you who use only this access, not
hard copies from NSF, are okay. Dr. Thaler also tells me that the
sticker did not appear on the copies sent out in the Division's
initial mailing of the new guidelines.
Keep in mind also that the deadline extension sticker is correct when
you find it on two early November deadline Directorate for Biology
postdoctoral programs, Molecular Evolution and Biosciences Related to
the Envrionment.
