of higher education with a strong record of academic achievement,
public service, and physical growth. It enrolls 15,000 students
in a wide variety of programs, ranging from two-year associate degrees
to graduate programs at the master's and doctoral level.

POSITION: The Director of Grants and Sponsored Programs reports to
the Dean of Graduate Studies. The position requires an experienced
pro-active person to assume leadership for pre-award operations,
compliance issues, and to oversee limited post award activities. The

private funding sources to identify current and future interests;
assisting faculty in the development of competitive proposals;
fostering collaboration across disciplines and institutions; and
overseeing the management of grants awarded to the University for

is competitive and commensurate with experience.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should have a doctoral degree and a
strong productive record in research. A minimum of five years in
the development and administration of grants and contracts, or
an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
The successful candidate must have an established record of
securing funding from federal, state, and private sources; excellent
interpersonal, communication, and negotiating skills; and strong
evidence of administrative and leadership ability. Knowledge of
federal regulations and compliance requirements as they pertain
to university research and sponsored programs is expected. Experience
in higher education or a federal funding agency is preferred.

Applications should include a letter of interest, current resume,
copies of transcripts and the names of three references.
All materials should be sent to Dr. Peter J. Kasvinsky, Dean of
Graduate Studies, 410 Wick Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44555.
