DIRECTOR, GRANTS DEVELOPMENT
Cal Poly seeks candidates for the position of Director, Grants Development
Office. The director is responsible for the pre-award phase of grant/contract
development in support of the educational and scholarly mission of the
University. This includes proposal development and processing, dissemination
of funding information, contract negotiation, and serving as a liaison with
external sponsors.
The successful candidate will be expected to create an environment that
encourages faculty to pursue external funding for their research, scholarly
and creative activity, and incorporates the latest technological advances in
information management and dissemination. A Master's degree is required;
doctorate preferred. Pre-award experience in a university, strong
communication and computer skills, knowledge of database management, and
superior interpersonal skills are required.
Founded in 1901, Cal Poly is a comprehensive regional university that awards
undergraduate and Master's degrees. Serving approximately 15,000 students, it
is located on the scenic Central Coast of California and is one of 21 campuses
in the California State University system.
