Moving expenses (UW-Madison to Wayne State U, Detroit) were not allowed when I
started my Postdoctoral training in 1985. I ended up paying the expenses
myself. The official policy may have changed since then, but I am not
aware of any specifics.

I concur with Tony. If you want to pay the moving expenses, find another
source, but make sure you can justify the use at audit time.
