At Central Missouri State University, we return 50% of the indirect costs to th
e college and department in which the grant originated. Distribution of those f
unds are negotiated between the PI, Chair, and Dean. They are returned, like al
l indirect costs, as unrestricted funds--unless, of course, they were designate
d a part of the match for a particular project. For completeness, 33% goes to t
he General Fund and 17% comes to my office.
