 OFFICE MEMO          Career Awards--What I found out        Date:9/22/94

I am on the NSF STIS network and all of the individual directorate guidelines
for the new Career Awards came out this morning.  Those of you who get the
program notices automatically should see them today.  Those of you who can
access the NSF can now pull them over.  The publication numbers are:  94-135A
(Biological Sciences), 94-135B (CISE), 94-135C (Education and Human
Resources), 94-135D (Engineering), 94-135E (Geosciences), 94-135F (Math and
Physical Sciences), 94-135G (Social, Behavioral and Econ Sciences).
The deadlines vary by directorate:  CISE, EHR, ENG and MPS are October 17.
SBER, GEO and BIO have various deadlines depending on the division, but none
before December 1.  Some of the directorates have limited the dollar amount
to be requested, all suggest different time periods.  All limit indirect
costs to 10%.   It's confusing, but at least the information is now
