EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Job No. CU982 Contract and Grant Officer (Sr. Administrative Analyst) Office of Contract and Grant Administration University of California, Irvine Minimum Salary: $37,800 per year Deadline: OPEN UNTIL FILLED Summary of Duties ----------------- Under the general direction of the Manager, Office of Contract and Grant Administration, review proposals for contract and grant awards from extramural funding sources. Provide assistance to department faculty and staff regarding proposal submission and award administration. Coordinate proposal preparation, campus and University approvals. Develop contract agreements with private sector sponsors and prepare third party agreements when necessary. Verify accurate proposal pricing and assure proper commitments of University resources and adherence to University and agency regulations. Negotiate award terms and conditions. Analyze awards for conformity to proposed budget and scope of work and UCI policies. Coordinate post-award activities, including approvals of certain actions and submission of required documents and reports. Minimum Requirements -------------------- Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); Code of Federal Regulations (CFR); Office of Management and Budget Circulars (OMB A-21, A-110, A-133); and federal agency policies including: Public Health Service, National Science Foundation, Department of Energy, Department of Defense, Department of Education and NASA. Proven ability to review and analyze, in detail, a large volume of paperwork rapidly and accurately. Ability to maintain work flow in the face of changing priorities and frequent interruptions. Working knowledge of IBM compatible personal computers, Word for Windows v. 2.0 and Microsoft Windows v. 3.1. Demonstrated ability to review proposals, awards and other award documentation utilizing financial and budgetary analytical skills. Proven ability to communicate in a helpful, effective and informative manner in person or by telephone with faculty, department administrators or agency personnel on a one-to-one basis and in small groups. Skill in writing grammatically-correct, concise and accurate business correspondence. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality in office operational transactions. Ability to develop and implement office procedures. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team within established office substructures.
