I've received a few more responses from institutions during the month of July,
including two from Canada, which have been included. In all 33 institutions
provided data for this survey.
Several readers of this list inquired as to the base for these %-ages, i.e.,
TDC or MTDC. Early on in this project, I had indicated that I was using a
TDC base, and most early respondents did also. I continue to assume that
this data is based upon TDC. If this is not correct for any of the
institutions which responded, please post your corrections to the list so
that readers can correct their information. I don't plan to spend anymore
time on this project.
I'd like to extend my appreciation to all of you who took the time to drop
me a note. The data from this survey has been very important to me, and
many of you have included similar views in your notes to me. I was pleased
to see what an important resource the net, and these newsgroups, were in
compiling this information. Thanks a lot!
