I like the NIH Keywords to auto direct the NIH Guide to faculty but for
indexing our profiles we have committed to MESH. This is the medical subject
heading system used to search dbases like Medline and which our faculty are
familiar. The problem is you need a librarian, or other knowledgable person to
structure the indexing terms. Our library has "voluntered" to help us do this
part. The system is hierarchial and already familiar to faculty who search
Medline for references. Clearly we could not do this with ORA staff alone.
