RE: Source of Funding

The University of Maryland , College Park has no prohibition on the
source of funds supporting research , other than 1) it must be legal
 and 2) it allows for free and open publication of research results.
3) our Board of Regents may from time to time make special policies
( for example the ban on South African investments policies of
 recent time)....
One respondent felt that the caveat against classified research dates
from the  60's, but being too young, couldn't really
remember.....well, I don't remember either ....but for the opposite
reason.

Our thinking here is that other than the conditions above, the
faculty must make  their own decisions
about what sponsorship they will accept for their scholarship.
