 Associate Dean

Candidates are sought for the position of the Associate Dean of the J. B.
Speed Scientific School, the school of engineering of the University of
Louisville. The Associate Dean reports directly to the Dean and has primary
responsibility for the school-wide development of sponsored research and
graduate programs. The Associate Dean is also expected to coordinate these
programs with the office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate
Programs. The successful applicant will be encouraged to continue research and
teaching activities as appropriate.

Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in engineering or a
related field, and an outstanding record of academic and scholarly
achievement. The candidate must be qualified for tenure in one of the six
academic departments of the school. Previous administrative experience related
to this position will be viewed favorably.

The projected starting date is January 1, 1995. Interviews will begin July 1,
