I took (and passed) the first CRA exam when it was offered in March 1993 (I
was one year shy of being able to do it through exemption).  As of last
summer, there were 110 research administrators who achieved
certification--105 by test exempt status and the remainder by passing the
first test.  I'm not sure of what the totals are since then.
