Our office is very happy with Quickmail by CE Software.  Our Office of
Research is part of the Graduate School, and every individual
(approximately 33) is on the network.  Messages can be sent to individuals,
small groups (such as our Office of Research) and the entire group (The
Graduate School).  Telephone messages are given to us this way as well as
setting us internal meetings, etc.  The transfer time seems almost
instantaneous, and your computer gives you a sound signal as well as a
visual signal that a message has arrived.  The system also indicates who
has read their messages from you and who have not.  Our software was
purchase before 1991, so no telling what the package can do now.
