Indirect Cost Pause Len Paplauskas 11 May 1994 11:21 EST

FYI, according to AAMC's Washington Highlights, 5/5/94. "House and Senate
conferees reached agreement on 5/4 on a FY'95 budget res. that calls for an
add'l. $13 billion in spending cuts not included in the Hous-passed version
of the budget."

"House conferees agreed to drop a proposal to freeze indirect cost payments
at FY94 levels... . The conferees recommend that prior to taking any action
on IDC, the Congress should await the joint report of the OSTP, OMB and CEA."

"While most observers view the decision of the conferees as a major step
toward defeating the "pause", the fate of the proposal still rests with the
seven approp. subcoms. in both the House and Senate..."
