Dear Thomas:
The proposal preparation and follow-up for the November 1 deadline
was ugly! SUNY at Stony Brook had over 13 proposals for this
"hellish" deadline....
The contact person at US Army Breast Cancer Research: Craig Lebou
(301)619-2036, for contracts/grants information.
I called last week and found Mr. Lebou quite informative. He said we
would be hearing from US Army within the next two weeks. Every
applicant will receive a letter addressing their status: (1) You are
recommended for funding; (2) You are recommended for funding, but no
funds available; (3) You are not recommended for funding. If you
don't receive a letter, they may contact the PI via telephone.
Letter #2 addresses those applicants which are recommended but didn't
make the cutoff. In order to prioritize, the Army wants to make sure
that they have awardees in place should one of the "recommended for
funding" not accept for some reason.
Try giving Lebour a call!
