Regarding the question about electronic databases for grants
 searching, we currently use both SPIN and Dialog.  The SPIN
 is particularly helpful and similar to the Annual Register
 of Grants Support to which you referred.  There is a similar
 database called "IRIS" which is similar to SPIN.  I haven't
 tried it.
