Does anyone have advice on how much salary support to budget on a new RO1 for
a Principal Investigator  (PI) who has received a three year grant from the
Amercian Cancer Society  (ACS) which provides for 60 percent of her salary.
The PI's effort on the ACS is only 20 percent.  The ACS grant begins July 1,
1994.  The PI is submitting the RO1 for a start date of April 1, 1995.  Can
the PI budget for more than 40 percent salary support on the RO1?  In the past,
 NIH has not permitted PIs to budget for increases in salary support in later
years of the grant when other grant funding has run out.
