At New Jersey Institute of Technology our administration established a
committee known as Reengineering Research Administration to assist
researchers understand grant/contract regulations. The committee
recommends the establishing internal procedures that will make it
easier for the researchers to manage their grant. The organizational
structure consists of three teams. The Executive team consists of
the vice presidents and the president. They make the final decision
on policy and procedures. The Project Management team includes the
director of budget and finance, pre-award and post administrators, and
representatives from our outside auditors. They come up with methods
to incorporate procedures. There are 6 Workshop leaders. Their
committee consists of faculty and staff. Each leader and the committee
members are responsible for a different issue: contracts, data reporting,
integrity, human resources, cost principles, and patents and licensing.
Glad to talk with you if you have questions.
