Welcome to New Subscribers and a few Hints

Since my brief article on RESADM-L hit the NCURA newsletter Feb/March
issue, subscriptions are averaging 2-3 new subscribers a day. Charter
members who signed on early in November in the hopes that we would
develop a large, active discussion group are not going to be disappointed.
As of this morning we have 116 subscribers to RESADM-L.
We are due for a mention in the upcoming SRA newsletter, so we should be
continuing to grow throughout the coming months.
For you newer members, WELCOME and a few hints about using RESADM-L. Older
members, bear with me if you have seen this before
If your e-mail system has a "REPLY" feature please AVOID using it
when replying to messages on RESADM-L. Start a new message. Reply
features generall do two things that are problemmatic for RESADM-L. Number
1, they re-create the TO and FROM and SUBJECT fields from the message
you are replying to. Basically, this confuses the mailer because it sees
multiple TO:'s and doesn't know where to send your message. Number 2,
using "REPLY" will sometimes result in the appending of the entire
text of the original message to your reply. This results in lengthy
messages that take up more space in people's mail, and on the server
here in Albany that archives our list. When replying to a message,
incorporate only enough of the original message to make it clear to the
others what you are responding to. (Often, using the same subject
heading as the original message is sufficient)
Your help in this will reduce the number of error messages received
by the listowner (i.e., ME) and will be greatly appreciated!
I am looking forward to corresponding with all of you.
